Award winning Raine Hamilton is bringing an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter with her on tour due to the increasing requests she’s had for access to her music for those who are Deaf or hard of hearing. She was happy to comply and loves the idea of spreading exposure to music to those with limited abilities.
It may not be an easy job to interpret for folk songs where the beat, which the Deaf often rely on for rhythm, is limited, but that doesn’t stop ASL interpreters from rising to the challenge.
